OVERVIEW
The getOutThere programme is aimed at allowing members with cerebral palsy to gain greater access to the community and enhance that interaction. The project is based upon a voucher system that the applicant uses to subsidise their taxi transport.

The Society has entered into agreement with selected taxi companies to accept the Society’s vouchers.
(A list of taxi companies is available on this Society’s website).
Vouchers will be issued in $5 and $10 denominations.
It is envisaged that vouchers to the value of $200/user/6 months be initially set. The vouchers will expire after six months (as indicated on the voucher). A further set of vouchers will be sent out thereafter.

The vouchers may be used in line with the aims of the project and at the user’s discretion. CRITERIA
The criteria for a person’s application to be considered is as follows:
1. You must have cerebral palsy. The Society may request proof that you have had a clinical diagnosis of cerebral palsy.
2. You belong to the Total Mobility program in your area.
3. You are a current financial member of the Cerebral Palsy Society of NZ Inc, or have submitted an application to join the Society.
4. Live in an area where the program operates (presently, Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua & Whakatane)
Note: People meeting the above criteria will not automatically be accepted into the program as such determination will be based upon available funding and history with the Society.

TERMS OF AGREEMENT
The user agrees :
To use these vouchers only with taxi companies listed as being in the project.
To not give these vouchers to others to use when the user is not a passenger.
Not to use any vouchers once their expiry date has passed.
Not redeem these vouchers with taxi companies for cash but only for services provided.
That unused vouchers, once passed their expiry date become void.
That should a voucher be tendered for an amount less than the voucher, no monies will be given in change by the taxi company.
That the security of the vouchers is the user’s responsibility and any loss, for whatever reason, will not be made good by the Society.
That the amount of vouchers assigned to a user may vary at the Society’s discretion.

Example of use:
A user takes a taxi journey that costs $18.20. The mobility card reduces user’s cost to $9.10. The user has the option of using a $5 voucher and paying $4.10 in cash.... or 2x$5 (or 1x$10) and not paying anything. (Note: in this case NO change will be given)
