People "Getting Out There"

Each January Spen and Bob from Allways Mobility organise a "getOutThere" trip for clients with CP Vouchers. Last year we went to Ngatea and this year it was Sheep World in Warkworth, north of Auckland. What a wonderful day out. We saw how a shepherd works his dogs and sheep, a sheep being sheared and how different sheep are separated in the pens. After the show we feed milk to some lambs and even held them for a few minutes. With the weather being so good we then went outside to feed the other animals at Sheep world - alpacas, donkeys, pigs, small horses, rabbits and emus. They sure could eat! After our own lunch we returned to Auckland tired but happy after a great day out.

(Editors comment -Our members certainly had a hands on day with Marie Henderson making friends with the Alpacas, Maureen nursing a lamb and Clare Jensen and Lee Hodgson exploring the rural setting.

It is great to see so many of our members taking advantage of the getOutThere program and enjoying the summer sun.)
